Controller versus safety device
A controller can trigger an alarm, switch equipment or log a reading. It cannot guarantee that a probe is clean, a dosing line is open or a heater is safe. Set high and low limits conservatively, keep a physical fallback where possible and make sure a failed internet connection does not leave the tank without its basic local schedule.
What to check before buying
- Which probes are included, and what replacement probes cost in the UK?
- Does the power bar use UK plugs and offer individual outlet control?
- Can it alert you by a method you will actually notice?
- Does the equipment you already own integrate natively or require an adapter?
- What still operates if Wi-Fi, cloud access or a sensor fails?
