The Fluval Evo 52L is the lowest-cost coherent kit here. The Aqua One MiniReef 90 is the compact choice for a true cabinet sump. The Red Sea MAX NANO G2 Cube is the most complete premium package. The Waterbox AIO 20 stays on the watchlist until current UK stock and the warranty route are confirmed.

Why “nano” is not automatically simpler
Compact tanks reduce footprint and water volume, but chamber dimensions, evaporation, heat transfer and equipment access become tighter constraints. A kit is only convenient if the heater, sensors, media and maintenance tools fit the real rear chamber—not the marketing photograph.
The Waterbox availability warning
Waterbox says it ended direct distribution in the UK and EU at the end of 2024 and now serves the region through two European partners. UK retailers still show legacy and newer Waterbox listings, but availability is inconsistent.
